Brew Review #5

My Chill Beer
On this Brew Review, I introduce you to Red Hook’s Long Hammer IPA:
While, I’ve mention this brew in a previous Brew Review. I call this small miracle My Chill Beer. I’ve first discovered Red Hook brews, back in California in the early ’90’s. Back then they had an IPA called Ballard Bitter. Man, that takes me back– The good old days! Anyways, your probably wondering why I call this my chill beer?
While as for the taste it has a very clean, good hoppy bite, but goes down mellow–refreshing. Have I had better IPA’s? Sure, but this one I would rate on the higher end. It has an ABV of 6.51%. Which is average for an IPA. You can enjoy yourself, without getting sick.
The next reason would have to be the price; and in these harsh economic times that’s quite important. On average, I can find this beer for about the same, and in some cases less than the price of Bud or other big name beers.
Thirdly, you can take this beer with you anywhere, and it goes with anything. Example: A buddy invites you to a semi-formal party and asks you to bring something. He tells you he’ll be serving sushi, no curry, no rib-eyes… No Problem! Bring the Long Hammer, and you’ll knock it out of the park. We all know that guy, that shows up to the party with something embarrassing. Say MGD, and he’s the butt of jokes all night long. Don’t be that guy! Or if your just kicking it with some friends watching the game– Again, no problem! This brew has chameleon powers, it just works.
For all the above reasons, Long Hammer gets a 5 out of 5 Pint Glasses

I’m an IPA guy, so I’ll have to give this one a try. Even though I’m generally not too impressed with Red Hook.
